Hot tub and Swim spa enclosures

You are probably familiar with the benefits that regular swimming and water therapy can have on your health, so being able to enjoy these things at home can greatly enhance your lifestyle and relaxation. Unfortunately, thanks to our great British weather, it can often be an uninviting prospect  to brave the wind and venture across the garden to your home spa, only to sit in the cold and rain

By pairing our award winning Hydropool hot tubs and swim spas with our purpose built Cabinmaster garden rooms we have created the perfect solution to this problem, making your home spa a joy to use at any time of year.

Hydropool

Hydropool offers the world’s most advanced swim spas and hot tubs, providing genuine Hydrotherapy through cutting edge technology and over 40 years of research and development.

Our hot tubs create a relaxing and soothing way to unwind, delivering targeted full body massage therapy. Our unique self cleaning system also provides the lowest maintenance hot tub experience on the market.

If you are looking for a way to exercise at home without the expense of a traditional swimming pool there is no better alternative than our market leading swim spas.

Cabin master

Cabinmaster specialise in creating incredible garden rooms for every use imaginable. We design and manufacture our buildings in our purpose built factories right here in the UK and install them throughout the country using our in-house installation teams.

Working hand in hand with our sister company Hydropool Midlands we can design and install a custom building to enclose your swim spa or hot tub, allowing you to enjoy your spa all year round, no matter the weather

Swim spa buildings

So why would you need a swim spa building? Simply put, housing your swim spa in a dedicated building allows you to enjoy it all year round, come rain or shine. Although our swim spas are perfectly at home outside, situating them inside a dedicated building gives you best of both worlds - plenty of light and ventilation in the summer months and a warm space in winter that’s protected from the elements

Our swim spa buildings are built around the same structural framework as our standard Cabinmaster garden rooms, but feature some key differences. These include ..

Design and Recommended Sizes

Just like our standard Cabinmaster garden rooms there’s no set way that your perfect swim spa building can be designed. Whether you love the sleek contemporary look of Cedar cladding, the more traditional appeal of our slow grown Scandinavian Redwood, or the modern maintenance free Marley board, the choice is yours. We have a huge range of window and door options available too and the building can even feature an extended verandah roof to create the perfect spot for a hot tub or outdoor seating area

Our Hydropool swim spas offer the largest swim area of any on the market. In fact every swim spa in the range is exactly the same width, whether it’s the 13’ entry level model, or the 19’ premium level model, providing maximum space regardless of the model you choose

The sizes for our swim spa buildings, depend on the size of the swim spa itself. We can of course produce a longer or wider building if you wanted to incorporate a partitioned changing room or an area for loungers.

Installation Options

In order for the swim spa to be properly accessible and visually pleasing it needs to be placed below the floor level of the building. This is also known as a ‘below grade’ installation

The spa can either be completely sunken, so that the top of the shell is almost flush with the floor, or it can be partially sunken, so that the body of the swim spa sits higher above the floor level. Here are some key points to consider ...

In ground swim spa

Fully in-ground

This provides a sleek appearance and is a suitable if you want your swim spa to appear more like a traditional pool, with the body of the water at the same level as the floor of the building

Stand alone swim spa

Partially in-ground

This is a great option as it allows you to sit on the edge of the spa and swing your legs around into the pool, making entering and exiting the spa easy. This is can be particularly helpful for elderly or disabled people, or if you want to avoid the feeling of climbing out of the pool

The installation process

At Cabinmaster and Hydropool Midlands we take care of the design, manufacture and install the building, and set up the spa itself for you to use. However there are some areas of the process where you will need to involve one or two third party companies to prepare the ground and get your swim spa to the right location.

Swim spa pit

Groundwork and preparation

Your swim spa needs to be situated in a suitable pit or base in/on the ground. The building is then constructed around it. The excavation and construction of the pit is not a service that we provide, so you will need to hire a suitable contractor to carry out this work.

We will provide you with a detailed in-ground installation guide to ensure your pit is to the correct spec. The pit needs to incorporate a few key elements:

  • A reinforced concrete base
  • Suitable perimeter walls
  • A place for an external pump to sit, located lower than the base itself
Crane delivery of swim spa

Delivery and positioning of spa

The delivery of your swim spa is included in your purchase, it will arrive on a hiab truck ready to be placed in your garden.

If you have a suitably wide access to your property then the swim spa may be able to be guided to its final location using manpower and rollers. Before your installation we will conduct a site survey to determine if this is possible.

If the access is more restricted, as is often the case, then the spa may have to be placed into position using a crane. We are able to provide advice in this area, and give recommendations to which crane companies we have worked with previously,  but we do not provide crane services.

Electrics, commissioning & filling

Your electrician will need to provide a suitable electrical supply from a fuse board in the house to the location where the spa and building will be sited.

Once in place the swim spa will need to be connected to the electrical supply and filled with water prior to the floor of the building being installed. When the swim spa is filled to capacity the floor can then be built up to it.

The Hydropol Midlands team will be on hand to add the appropriate chemicals to the water, to test that everything is working properly, and to provide a handover on how to operate and care for the spa

Hot tub buildings

Just like our swim spas it is also possible to situate our hot tubs inside a dedicated building. This provides a warm and insulated space to enjoy your hot tub all year round. However, we have found that a hot tub that’s placed under cover, but not within a fully enclosed building, is the best way to enjoy your spa. This is where our Verandah garden rooms come into their own…

The extended verandah roof provides great protection from the rain whilst allowing you to enjoy all of the benefits that an outdoor hot tub provides. For example, the temperature of a hot tub is usually kept around body temperature, which is approx 10 degrees hotter than the typical temperature of a swim spa.

If the hot tub is situated within a room it can quickly become very hot inside the building as the heat from the hot tub is trapped within the space, sometimes making the experience uncomfortable. If the hot tub is placed under a verandah roof instead you are able to enjoy the heat of the water whilst having the fresh air to cool off when it gets too hot, as the heat from the tub is able to escape.

Our optional solid back wall also further helps to protect from the elements and block the view to from behind
